Ghislaine le Mauff provided evidence to Huguenot Society of South Africa including evidence of Anne's sister Elisabeth Souchay's marriage to Pierre le Roux in Mer, Loir-et-Cher. Her parents, and consequently Anne's parents, are given as Paul Souchay and Anne Poillerat. Original document attached above. Archives départementales de Loir-et-Cher – E-dépôt 136/5 page 59. Not that I'm disagreeing - I see I'm using that connection here myself:

LE ROUX, FOUCHER, BRUERE CONNECTION
On 31 Dec 1687 Jean & Gabriel le Roux, Philippe Foucher & Anne Souchay, with Estienne Bruere embarked together on the VOC ship Voorschoten to settle at the Cape of Good Hope. The le Roux brothers & Philippe Foucher were 2nd cousins. Philippe Foucher & Estienne Bruere were second cousins. Anne Souchay was the sister of the le Roux brother's sister in law. They all became progenitors of SA lines.
In Le Roux genealogy book a few discrepancies , I am want to go through it again. A Shoemaker that is also the the Lord of Pomegorge ? Hugenots not allowed to travel under strict surveillance but off to Paris and Amsterdam ?
As you say a good schematic with dates and wives and children to get an idea.

This contradicts a lot of ---
First Fifty Years - a project collating Cape of Good Hope records
A project to transcribe and publish copies of records relating to individuals who lived at the Cape (Cabo da Boa Esperança / de Caep de Goede Hoop / Die Kaap die Goeie Hoop) during the first decades of the settlement after 1652

Think First Fifty years more value and less desire for ancestors .
Apologies for slow reply. Studying postgrad and some assignments due tomorrow.

Oh, I love a good document :-) THANK YOU Drummond!
I'm trying to cite all the people mentioned in this translation of my granny's wedding doc - but I don't have a lot of time - can somebody check which Jean BOURDON is the ' baillif living at Mer' mentioned in the doc? I have Estienne Bourdon as a bailiff, but there are a number of options for the Jean. See the family tree on https://www.geni.com/projects/Le-Roux-Genealogy-of-South-Africa/48730
So glad the question was asked.
If no one had asked what is the origins of her parents here on GENI this document / source would never have even been searched for and when found then added to the profiles on GENI.
Everyone can benefit from this sharing of information.
Thank you Drummond a great find .
Thank you Sharon for not being an Ostrich and being proactive and constructive : daring to ask a question.
