Samuel Jordan, of Jordan's Journey - Ninth great grandfather

Hello Howard. Samuel Jordan is also my 9th GG, and has suddenly turned inti a distant cousin. When I joined Geni some 10 years ago this was on his Profile, and I have a copy of that. Also his son Thomas born 1600 was my 8th GG now he seems virtually not to exist. When Smart Matches come in from My Heritage with all the correct evidence on their side, and the incorrect rubbish that Geni is coming up with it all seems a bit daft. I once got an adjudicator to try and sort it out. Hey Presto he disappeared as well!! Change your family tree on to My Heritage who is Geni's parent Company, and you will find you still have a 9th GG, The family line seems indisputable, but you should see the mess Geni makes with John Jordan of Wolverton 1390, who must be on of your GGs, as he descends directly through the male line to Samuel. Geni will have it came from Wolverton Bucks where he lived and died. He didn't he lived and died at Wolverton Manor Dorset and married the girl next door Christie Chantmarle from Chantmarle Manor Dorset, both near the town of Dorchester, both still standing, and both with the Jordans in their history. I live close by and have studied the history of both places. However this will not do for the Curators of Geni who follow their own completely incorrect path

You don’t need to quote a Geni curator. The “authority” is genealogist John Dorman.

Though the genealogist John Dorman does not mention either Robert or Samuel, he does acknowledge the possibility that Thomas Jordan, who arrived in Virginia at age 18 aboard Diana in 1619, could be Samuel's son from an earlier marriage in England; however, he also points out there is no conclusive evidence to establish this relation.[6]

Well this chap on Wikipedia may be your guru but not many people seem to agree with him.and under the circumstances why does Robert Jordan appear on Geni's Profile of Samuel Jordan as being killed in the Indian Massacre. I note that poor old Thomas has a new wife!! Lucy Corker must have been put aside. The one thing I ask is that my name should be removed from these sites as in my view they are misleading at the very least. Who on earth is Cynthia Curtis Hicks, she keeps appearing on my screen at length!!

It’s very hard to represent “uncertainty” on Geni. As we had all discussed, it is possible that Thomas Jordan, said to be the father of Thomas 'the Quaker' Jordan of Chuckatuck, was a son of Samuel Jordan. But we don’t (yet?) have a preponderance of the evidence. I hope there can be one day.
