If you are thinking that Ancestry DNA goes past 7th generation with any certain results that may be your problem. I have heard that Harvard has a department that can do more that twice dna results.. I believe I read that it was appoximately twice the price and time but well worth the effort especially if you are working with any line going beyond that 7 generation cut off.
