I detached her first from a John Kent who had a Mercy but no Mary and the geography was wrong.

John Kent, of Dedham & Charlestown I saw that you were the curator and that there was a Mary Barber that you had listed already attached.

I saw that other Internet sites had her with Captain John Kent but since Mary (Kent) Phelps was attached, I was suspicious.

Duh, it's my Kent family and I had all the clues I needed in the profile of Mary (Kent) Phelps, including that she married John Holcomb. I made a new wife of Aaron Phelps and fixed up MY Mary Kent Holcomb. Whatever happened to her could not be revised. I suspect someone married her to Aaron Phelps in error and that I had never made a John Holcomb profile.

It’s her sister Mercy Kent from the 2nd set of twins who married Aaron Phelps. As you know the names Mary & Mercy were sometimes interchangeable (or mixed up).

And the Phelps were all messed up too.

An Aaron Phelps born 1776 was confused with the guy who fought in the Revolutionary War.

The Joanna Phelps who married John Jones of Westfield MA would have been an older woman (married 1757, died 1765) than the Joanna Phelps of Windsor who was John Owen’s 1st wife in 1768.

Joanna Owen Is not the same as Joanna Owen & I believe the latter is the daughter of Aaron Phelps, Sr. & Mercy / Mary Phelps
