After my DNA test at Ancestry they say that Indian Maiden is my 5th Great Grandmother. I'm just a guest member of Ancestry and want more information on this person. My Mother is Mary Ellen Pine 1927-2010, John Harry Pine my Maternal Grandfather, 1904-1986, Samuel C. Pine, Great Grandfather, 1868-1931, Sarah Jane Simpkins 2nd Great Grandmother, 1852-1928, Samuel Simpkins, 1815-1905, William Simpkins, 1755-1831, Indian Maiden, 1735-1769. There were 12 DNA Matches. Any thing you find will help. Was William Simpkins the father of Samuel Simpkins who lived and died in Gloucester City, NJ ? Samuel Simpkins is a Civil War soldier bured in Cedar Grove Cemetery Gloucester, New Jersey. Is Indian Maiden a Indian and if so what tribe?

Add your tree here and connect to him.
Download your raw DNA from Ancestry and upload it to Gedmatch for free, FtDNA and MyHeritage for a small fee.

Downloading your DNA from Ancestry is free.

Uploading it to Gedmatch is free and has many free tools. But there is a wonderful tool that costs ten dollars to use it for a month.

Uploading to FtDNA is free and only costs something like twenty dollars but only if you "unlock" the results. Otherwise, others can still see it and that is helpful to you.

There are still ways to keep genealogy free if you have time.
I find the small charges are actually time saving.
Depends on whether you have more time or more money.
Genealogy can be a very expensive hobby, but that is the same for any hobby.

People are often happy to help but up to a point.
Example, I looked at your profile and I looked at William's profile.
You do not have anyone beyond your private parents listed and William has no children showing.

Have to start somewhere.
You did a DNA test and that is awesome but it takes some effort to figure out a genealogy.
Everyone places value on different things.
To me a DNA test and a Geni paid account is very valuable.
To my husband, he would rather have a nice golf club.
We are together going on 35 years.
I respect his opinion and he respects mine even though they differ.

Mary Lou Hannold the profile was added in 2012 by Geni curator
Eldon Lester Clark who has since passed away.

Perhaps there is a curator here who can assist Mary with her questions?
I added her Samuel as a son but without sources.
It is a valid question.
Mary, I wish you luck in your search.
