They know who his parents were. There may be a great reason why they are not revealing their names.

How can anyone not know who their parents are? The only possibility would be that the child/ children were orphaned when they were babies.

Then, my family must be the exception. My immigrant ancestors were documented and their parents were known by everyone.

When did they arrive, from where, and how far back?

Mayflower passengers have been intensely studied for years. There have been some recent modest breakthroughs, but John Alden is not one.

I grew up with my mother telling us kids that we were descended from Priscilla Alden of The Mayflower. What a joy it was to build an account on Geni, enter some data, and find out that we ARE descended from Priscilla! How cool is that?!!

I hope this post wasn't too casual for the discussion thread.
