In my research, I conclude that Jonet (poss. Janet) Isaac was _
a. born circa 1337 but not likely in Lorne as her parents were Aberdeen based
b. died c1400 but not likely in Lorne as she had remarried a Fleming of Bigger
c. yes, daughter of Thomas Isaac and Maud/Matilda Bruce
d. yes, wife of (2) Malcom Fleming of Bigger and (1) John MacDougall 5th of Lorn.
e. yes mother of Isabel MacDougall and Janet MacDougall
f. I can find no record to say that she had a sister Joanna Isaac (and perhaps this Joanna is in fact one and the same person as Jonet) but yes, she had a sister Catherine Isaac. Maud (Matilda) Isaac was her mother and baron John Isaac of Dunfermline is unknown to me.

This research also looked at the citations you offer in particular Britain’s Royal Families – Alison Weir – p211 records two daughters to Thomas and Matilda, Joan (married John, Lord of Lorne) and Katherine.

My research has shown that Joanna (or Johanna possible Jonet) Isaac was granddaughter of Robert I the Bruce, was born in or about 1337, the daughter of Princess Matilda (Maud) Bruce and Sir Thomas Isaac. She lived in the time of the Bruce's son, King David II.

It is almost certain that King David II was responsible for Johanna's marriage to his favoured knight, John Gallda MacDougall. MacDougall is also shown in records as Ewen de Ergadia (John of Argyll). Also as John MacAlan (Alan MacDougall being his exiled father).

The union itself is datable to at least 1362 and resulted in the king regarding John Gallda as ‘nephew’. In theory the marriage meant that any children of the couple potentially possessed a claim in the royal succession, and this would have been seen as a threat by the leading claimant, and eventual successor to David II, his nephew Robert Stewart. Royal acts of the time reveal that David II bestowed much favour upon John Gallda and Joanna.

After David II died in 1371 to be succeeded by Robert II, the MacDougall's fell completely out of favour.

According to Gesta Annalia II, John Gallda and Joanna indeed had a son, or sons, but they certainly never succeeded their father, and evidently died young. What is certain, however, is that the couple had two daughters: Isabel and Janet. At an uncertain date, Isabel married John Stewart of Innermeath, whilst Janet married John Stewart's brother, Robert Stewart of Durisdeer. The brothers were members of the Stewarts of Innermeath, a cadet branch of the Stewart family.

According to Gesta Annalia II, after John Gallda's death in or about 1377, Joanna married Malcolm Fleming of Biggar, a union which appears to be corroborated by a papal dispensation granted in 1377. This marriage and the marriages of John Gallda's daughters to the Stewart brothers saw a slight neutralisation of the relationship with the king.

I have messaged the curator of the Geni page Joanna Isaac to suggest that consideration be given as whether these ladies are one and the same. Take a look at the Geni page of Joann Isaac and you will see that she is married (also) to John MacAlan of Ergadia... he is John Gallda MacDougall, the befriended knight of David II.

I worry that there is misinformation here. Would be great if someone could look at it and clear this up. Thanks.

I think Jonet and Joanna are the same persons and needs to be merged.

I agree they should be merged but I am not a decision maker. Just pointing out the discrepancies in the hope of clearing up inaccurate data on the web.
