Margaret de Stockport - Birth Place a Bit Confusing

Hi -
I don't know British location history all that well. I do know that the "United Kingdom" doesn't unfold until 1801.
But in the year 1200, did people use the terms Stockport District or Greater Manchester? I note the double comma, so there originally may've been two options for the birth?
