Mitchell, sounds like a nice family history trip! Enjoy!
James Anthon Jacobson is not a (known) blood relative of Sarah Bloom Cohen or David Walter Bloom or even the Ferrin family -- he married into the Ferrin family. What is his relevance to the question of who were Sarah Bloom Cohen's parents?
Martha Ferrin-Fernandez is my husband's great uncle's wife's great niece.

No, I am not a blood relative of Samuel Bloom . I have never claimed to be one.
If Martha Ferrin-Fernandez is Mitchell's great uncle's wife's great niece (an in-law relationship), there's no reason to expect that they would be blood relatives, either. Maybe that's why they're not showing up as DNA matches on AncestryDNA?
But again, this is all irrelevant to the question of who were Sarah Bloom Cohen's parents, which is the topic of this discussion.
Martha mentioned the Bloom Southwest Jewish Archives as a potential source of information about the Bloom (and Ferrin) families. Perhaps there is something contained in the archive that would provide information on David Walter Bloom's father (who is also presumably the father of Sarah Bloom Cohen, Mary Bloom Siegel, and Lilly Siegel Drosd).
Because she's a Ferrin and was trying to learn about her direct ancestors, probably?
Again, that is irrelevant to the topic of this discussion, which is the parents of Sarah Bloom Cohen (and David Walter Bloom and Lily Bloom Drosd and Mary Bloom Siegel). If you have any information pertinent to this topic, please share it.
Re: The article Private User posted earlier...
On David Walter Bloom's naturalization paperwork, it suggests that David's father had come to the US and was naturalized, and then returned to Russia and sent David to the US. Herzl may have died in Russia.
David wrote that he was informed "...by my father in Russia, that he had been naturalized in Boston...and also informed by him that he had arranged for me to go to the United States as a citizen under his naturalization. Shortly thereafter, when I was 14 years of age, I was sent and landed at Boston, Mass."
Then later, as to why he couldn't provide documentation that his father had been naturalized as a US citizen, "my father died shortly after my leaving Russia".
Private User. I spoke to Dave Bloom to find out information about my Ferrin relatives. I'm NOT a Bloom, my great aunt *married a Bloom* and the Blooms are of no interest to me at all other than the fact that my aunt Clara married one and her children are my 2nd cousins... beyond that, I don't really care to or need to know anything about the Blooms
Private User - where are you getting your quotes and info in

You seem to attribute them to the article I posted -- but the article I posted says https://www.newspapers.com/clip/87198225/news-david-walter-bloom-an...
"It seems Bloom, whose full name is David Walter Bloom, was born in Kvno, Russia. He was brought to the United States by his father who became naturalized"
Thatsounds like them coming over together, and there is no mention of his father returning to Russia.
Private User , As I said in my post, it's in David Walter Bloom's naturalization paperwork; and I meant it as a caution that the details in the article you posted might not be totally accurate. (Who knows if the affidavit is totally accurate, either, but at least it's a first-person account rather than having been filtered through a journalist. I assumed you'd already seen it since you posted some naturalization papers (but they were private, so I couldn't see exactly what you'd posted). There is an "Affidavit of Petitioner" dated 30 June 1932 from which I quoted. I found it at Ancestry, and I'll post it to his profile later.
Martha, This does not make sense. There were 3 children dead in 1911-1911. Cora was 11 years old. We will going to Safford, AZ this Wednesday.
