this Isabel was actually Elizabeth Isabel stewart that married Archibald Campbell, 2nd Earl of Argyll. John Stewart 2nd earl of Lorn only had by wife #1 three daughters married to Campbells of Argyll, Glenorchy, and Ottar. (see https://www.stewartsociety.org/history-of-the-stewarts.cfm?section=...) The Lady Elizabeth Isabel Stewart was the Daughter of Sir John Earl of Lennox (see https://www.stewartsociety.org/history-of-the-stewarts.cfm?section=...) The Isabel Stewart that married Colin Campbell ancesters to the Earls of Argyl was the daughter of King Robert III of Scotland and Annabell Drummond.(see https://www.stewartsociety.org/history-of-the-stewarts.cfm?section=...)

I. Colin, second Lord Campbell, already referred to as Colin M'Gillespic in a writ of 1450 noted above. He suc- ceeded his grandfather in 1453, and is said, but not on good authority, to have been a minor under the guardianship of his uncle. Sir Colin Campbell of Glenurchy.' It is pro- bable his uncle had only a gift of his marriage, and he arranged a union between his nephew and Isabel or Eliza- beth Stewart, one of the three daughters and co-heirs of John, Lord of Lorne, and sister of his own wife, a very ad- vantageous match for the house. He was created EARL OF ARGYLL 1457.'
