I read the strand of place-names for the birth, and my quirkiness caused me to chuckle, thinking:
Robert "Curthose" was born in "Normandy, Plouigneau, Brittany, France".
Hmm?... I wonder what part of him was born in Normandy and the rest in Brittany?
Oh là là! And somehow the parts came together... Ouah! Quel miracle! :-)....
FMG shows "Normandy [1052/54]". Cawley doesn't cite a source, but the stated region of birth is rational—the Conqueror being the duke of Normandy. Where "Plouigneau, Brittany, France" came from is a mystery, At Wikipédia français, it shows:: "Lieu de naissance" (Drapeau image of) "Duché de Normandie". https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Courteheuse .
I hope no one takes my whimsy as sarcasm. By nature, I don't do sarcasm.
