1. Orne is a"départment" designation. Départments didn't exist until the French Revolution was underway.

Kenneth, it would be very helpful if you put your knowledge to use and edited place names to be correct for their period in history. Often Geni will automatically put a place name that is modern. If the profile has been locked by a curator then contact such as this is more appropriate but if it is unlocked then there is no reason why you should not edit.
