I think that the Norman R Gill and Raymond M Gill listed here are actually the children of a different William Gill and his wife Ruth...They were born in Yorkshire, England. Besides this Wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Smith_Gill I have also viewed the 1901 Scotland census which lists only the first child Alexander (only child of the 5 born before the 1901 census). I have been able to find no confirmation of children Raymond or Norman to this William Smith, and as they were prominent it is unlikely there would be no mention of the other two supposed sons.
The other William Gill with wife Ruth was a police constable in England.
