Ann "Running Fawn" Williams - Confusion with mother-in-law regarding Indian name

Per interview notes of “John Fred Williams” in 1981 with “Young Kennard” and “Ernest Williams” (a descendant of Philip) and other conversations held with Ernest, “Ann (Vest) Williams” was a full-blooded Indian from the Great Lakes region (tribe unknown). Her Indian name was “Running Fawn,” NOT “Floating Cloud,” as has been propagated on many trees in apparent confusion with her mother-in-law “Keziah Elizabeth Brooks” whose Indian name was “Floating Cloud,” and whom is believed to be 50% Cherokee. Which would have made Ann’s husband “Philip Williams,” whose Indian name was “Buckspike” 25% Cherokee. [Reference: https://wc.rootsweb.com/trees/167117/I178/-/individual]

George Raymond Freeman thank you.
Yes, I worked on them this April and Dan Cornett was kind enough to MP her profile.
I was actually blocked by a Geni user over the Discussion lol *sigh but the tree is much better!
People are very nervous to see any Native American profile examined but it is important to get these right; same as any other profile.
Please see: https://www.geni.com/discussions/248580?authenticity_token=bm8Ac%2B...
and do weigh in if you have any edits or sources or notes to add, including DNA evidence or if there is any further request or need to ask for a profile to be MP'd...

So nice to see you here, cousin!

Looks like the profile is misplaced on geni and I’m detaching parents from Ann "Running Fawn" Williams

Ann Floating Cloud, my 6th Great Grandmother, Rest in Peace. Note : Not the daughter of William Vest and Lucretia Alford - they were white and their daughter Ann married a James Densmore. This Ann was Cherokee.

Erica Howton thank you for the MP flag on Ann "Running Fawn" Williams
