I would like to identify record evidence that connects this man with Scotland. I would also like to identify record evidence for his life in Colonial Virginia. Can anyone help?

We have an abundance of John Crawfords.

I’ve separated the man who died in Middletown, New Jersey from the man who seems to have had children in Virginia. I can’t attest to either of their origins.

John Crawford, of Middletown married Elizabeth Crawford and had two children. His daughter Elizabeth Stout married into a well known New Netherland Colony family, the Stouts. She was born either in Scotland or at Gravesend in current day Brooklyn, New York City. She has over 10,000 descendants on Geni, so the most important to get right, from my perspective.

I cannot see how that John Crawford could be the same. The cultures were different between the two colonies.
