It appears to me that in the search for the parents of Deacon Thomas Judd, several different Judd families have been confused on Geni. I have just attempted to untangle the families.

See the next posts for links to the families in Kent, Essex, and Cornwall.

My conclusion is that the parents of Deacon Thomas Judd are NOT known.

Hatte,
Your conclusions mirror mine, based only on what is not substantiated to date.

Deacon Thomas Judd There is no further information about him in The Great Migration Begins. According to his Geni profile (to be proven), he was born in Kent.

William Judd was attached to Deacon Thomas Judd and also to Katherine Norwood. However this Judd family is from Cornwall. And Katherine Norwood is from Gloucester. I have detached the Cornwall William from this wife and from Deacon Thomas Judd.

There are records on Family Search of a marriage in Great Canfield, Essex between a Thomas Judd and a Katherine Norwood which took place in 1595. A son was christening in Great Canfield in 1600, father Thomas, name Thomas.

There is no reason for families in Kent, Essex, Gloucester (Katherine Norwood), and Cornwall to be assumed to be the same family.

Further, assuming the Geni profile for Deacon Thomas Judd is correct, he was born in 1607 in Kent. He was NOT born in 1600 in Essex like the Thomas Judd, son of Thomas Judd and Katherine Norwood.

Judd is clearly a common surname in England.
