This William Henry Gregory, who was born 1788 in NC, is not husband of Sarah H. Queen.: William Henry Gregory, who was born 1788 in North Carolina and died 1872 in Tennessee, IS NOT THE
HUSBAND of Sarah H Queen B: abt 1791 D: bef 1870. Analysis of the census from 1820 thru 1870
indicates that William Henry Gregory was in either North Caroline or Tennessee, BUT NOT IN Harrison
Co, (West) Virginia. It appears that someone connected William Henry Gregory to Sarah H. Queen
without good anlysis, and others copied this incorrect connection, which is a dis-service to other
doing research on the Queen Family. It is noted that their were several William Gregory's in the
early census in many places.

From the "Queen Family History" by Sterling Post Queen
Descendants of Sarah Queen Gregory
Sarah Queen, a daughter of Charles Queen Jr and Miss May (Haley) Queen, was born in 1791 into the
first generation of the Queen famiy and married William Gregory on Feb 15, 1811. To this marriage
were born six children into the second generation of the Queen Family, namely:
Margaret, Elizabeth, James, John, William and Polly Gregory.
No records show that William Gregory who married Sarah H. Queen, was name William Henry Gregory;
just because a son is named William Henry Gregory does not mean that his father was William
Henry.1850 Census of Harrison and Lewis Cos, (W)VA does not show William Gregory, which would
indicate that he died before 1850. His wife is in the 1860 census -- GREGORY SARAH 70 F W VA
VA UPSHUR BUCKHANNON P O 1860 with son, James - 40 - shown as Idiot. Not found in the 1870
census, therefore must have died before 1870 (one source give 1866, however no death record found).
William Gregory and Sarah H (Queen) son william, identified as William Henry Gregroy B: abt 1834
(W)VA (not Tennessee) married Elizabeth Ann Simmons/Simon B: abt 1831 on 10 Jan 1853 Upshur Co,
(W)VA.
NOTE: Census Mortality Schedules Index for 1870 shows Sarah died in 1870.
