Just on the above profile and I find it interesting that Geni.com have the lineage quite different to our direct line to the Hamilton Family of Scotland.
This profile of James (Hamilton) Hamilton of Allanshaw is actually my 10th G/Grandfatlher. Our line descends from Sir James Hamilton 1st Lord Hamilton, who is my 13th G/Grandfather. Then follows my 12th G/Grandfather who is John Hamilton 1st of Broomhill, then his son, Robert (Hamilton) Hamilton of Allanshaw, who is my 11th G/Grandfather, and so on.
I hope this clarifies our family tree to the Hamilton Family of Scotland.
