Can anyone supply evidence for the ancestry of Margaret Hamilton, the wife of James Smellie.
Margaret Hamilton and James Smellie were booked for proclamation of marriage on 15 October 1743, at Renfrew in Renfrewshire, Scotland. The booking record shows that on this date James was resident in Cumbernauld, in Dunbartonshire, and that Margaret was resident in Renfrew.
Any help provided would be greatly appreciated.
