Hi, Mike Stangel and other geni staff
Russian users in myheritage received quite a dishonest and unfair notification that their profiles will be deleted on 25.2.2025.
So the question is, is Geni (which is part of the same group of companies as MH) planning to do the same thing, in the same dishonest way, "citing Russian laws", even though it is not located in Russia?
If it does, it would be unfair to us, as our trees and the information entered is deeply rooted in a common tree. Many profiles have many users from different countries. Deleting a user profile without deleting the information they entered would essentially be data theft on geni's part.
I would like a clear and honest explanation of what geni plans to do in this regard, rather than the usual polite but empty replies and apologies of the management, who supposedly knows nothing.
