Completion of all WAC Directors

Good evening, since this project began I've working to make sure WAC Directors had an actual complete profiles on GENI, these women deserve as much recognition as possible.

There is no where on the Internet that you will find complete profiles for all of the WAC Directors (believe I looked)... (first, middle, last name), biographies, full DOB and DOD, proper military ranks, links to their parents, burial information, education, photos, etc.

Additionally, I've created a Women's Army Corps Service Medal sub-project.

One suggestion: from the beginning, we've used abbreviations for military ranks instead of writing them out. There are multiple reasons, but the biggest is that some ranks are also given names and this helps to avoid confusion. (Admittedly not a huge issue for women, but we should try to be consistent across all veterans.) Longer ranks also create display issues within the tree, particularly for users on mobile. Perhaps most importantly, this is what most of our living veteran users suggested as common practice.

So instead of "Major", we put "Maj." in the title field. "Lieutenant Colonel" becomes "Lt. Col." And so forth. Geni deliberately programmed the inconsistency checker to accept the abbreviations; if you come across any that aren't, let us know and we'll flag it to them.

I've been changing the ranks to the abbreviated form on the profiles I MP, and I notice other curators doing it as well, so just something to be mindful of moving forward.
