I attended the scientific course in Hannover, took my army examination in 1896 as a volunteer per year (equal to the C.P.O.R) and did my military service in Infantry Regiment No. 74 in Hannover in 1904-1905. Then I entered the S.H. Oppenheimer bank house as an apprentice. Unfortunately, that didn't do any good for my progress. My speculations have always ended in losses. So I advise all readers to take their hand off any speculation. After finishing my apprenticeship I used to work in the bank house Ph. Reichenbach & Cia. in Quedlinburg, with a salary of 100 marks per month. Here I stayed from 1898 until 1900. My second place was in Koenigsburg, East Prussia at the Credit Bank. In both jobs I didn't need to work on Saturday, which meant a determining condition for my late father. To make the truth, it was great the desire and my late mother, that I should become rabbi. But I failed the exam to transfer to the gym. In Koenigsberg Mathile, Leopold and I formed a very cheerful family. Claire went to city school. At the house of the first Singer Birnbaum we spent many beautiful happy hours. Professor Samuel and other colleagues of Leopold frequented our house a lot and so we transplanted the proverbial hospitality of the Renho to Koenigsberg. In early May 1903 I joined the paternal firm in Hannover.
And so in May of this year I was able to celebrate the silver jubilee of my commercial activity.
Until the year 1920 I was together with Sally, partner of the firm Moritz Wolf. Since then the firm has grown with the "Iron and Metal" company. Unfortunately, relations between Sally and me changed after their marriage, in a way that should never have been expected between Moritz's children and Marianne Wolf. But as an objective historian, I can't even talk. I conform to the old Jewish saying - Gam su Leutauwe - (the bad often leads to good).
I'm sorry I didn't get married. Several times I searched in vain for the ideal wife for me.
For many years I live together with Claire and Bobby in Hannover, in perfect harmony. We receive our friends we organize with preference musical soirees in which participate Mrs. Algers nasc. Schulz, Ms. Shcoessingk, Bronja Londner and others"
