They're a mess of locations and mix up with the Northampton Spencers.

Clipping out the upper ends of my paths on both sides, as it does look a bit odd and connected in a way that seems unusual--although marrying close cousins happened, so not entirely sure this means it is incorrect?

Sir John Carey (his father) → Margaret Carey, Lady Of Cary (his mother) → Sir Robert Spencer, Knt., of Spencercombe (her father) → John Spencer, Esq. (his father) → Lady Margaret le Despenser (his mother)

and on the other side:

Lady Emma le Despencer, Lady of Swallowfield (her daughter) → Sir John le Despenser, Kt. (her son) → Sir William le Despenser (his son) → John le Despenser (his son) → Baron Nicholas le Despenser, of Defford (his son) → Thomas le Despenser, Esq. (his son) → Thomas Spencer, II (his son)

Is there anything useful in this profile:

John Spencer, Esq.
