Greetings all...

It seems someone is really screwing up the Tripp line... we've got multiple generations mixed up and I'm not familiar enough with this line to help fix it.

This is the message I received from one of my relatives Private User:

"Jason, The Tripp lines seem to just be getting worse. I have gone in and tried to resolve some of the conflicts but some people have just got all the "John Tripps" mixed up. My line comes down from the son of John Tripp Jr. b. 1610 who married Mary Paine - his son James in a ggggggggrandfather. Problem is that now when i go into James Tripp, John and Mary are showing up as his parents but when i open Johns profile now, it shows that he is like a great uncle - it is a mess!
The John Tripps should be:
b. 1575 - John Tripp Sr
b. 1610 - John Tripp Jr.
b. 1640 - John Tripp

I really do not know how to fix all of this are just let it be. Thanks Tina Roth"

This is the line Tina is referring to: John Tripp, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island

Any takers?

Anyone?

I don't have permissions. Sorry.

Marsha: if you're familiar with this line... I'm sure I can help you get any needed permissions. Most of them are connected to me anyway.

Please... if you're familiar with this line... HELP!

I hate begging... but in this case it's warranted.

All I know is what's in rootsweb. But I'd be happy to work on it based on the 69 databases that have some sort of source notes included. If no one else volunteers, let me know.

I undid a pending merge and then removed a relationship connection between one John and I think himself?

I don't know what else needs to be done as I'm not familiar at all with the line. But that was a noticeable error in the pending merge and the wrong parent. Hopefully it helped a little

i am sorry jason, i have no ideas on this line.

Well I can tell you part of the problem is that someone has put James Tripp b. 1656 to John Tripp Jr. (1610) as one of his wives being Deliverance Hall Tripp when if fact she was married to a brother, Abiel.
Also on the wife of John Tripp Jr., Mary Paine there are two different John's showing up as her husband and they are one in the same except that is what is messing the line up. But I do not know how to fix it. Thanks for any help on this.

Yes I noticed that problem Tina. You need to remove one of the marriage connections and then resolve the parental conflict for each of the children. I just didn't have permissions with the people involved to be able to do that.

Can I send in a collaboration request?

yes - any help you can give me will be great!

You need to review the book "Descendants ofJames, son of John Tripp. It is posted online in two places that I have found, D.A.R. and the Brigham Young University:

If you click on the above link to Brigham Young University, the Tripp book can be printed as they have it on Microfilm. This book is Descendants of James, son of John Tripp. Now he also wrote a book called Joseph, son of John Tripp so don’t get the two confused. It is 267 pages long so make sure you have ink and paper. It has pictures and the family crest etc.
