Looks like someone have merged a released claimed historical profile into the MP before all profiles is released: Gen. Robert E. Lee, CSA.
Mike Stangel, it is not about permissions, but the fact that the Master Profile Gen. Robert E. Lee, CSA are the manager of 59 profiles, and will probably be listed as Added By on many profiles - could you release them?
It is easier to clean up a claimed historical account when the manager profile is untouched, and after all the reactions from fanatic royalists accusing me for falsification because Queen Elizabeth II was listed as Added By (and even worse the manager of) profiles and I was the manager of her profile I always try to delete the previous claimed profile instead of merging it into the main line.
Can I get someone to approve this merge please? No response from manager since October. Thanks.

Anyone know why I cannot merge these profiles?
Mary Elizabeth “Betsey” White needs to be severed from her father. The trees of two separate White families were incorrectly merged together. I separated them out but am unable to break the connection between Mary Elbert and Thomas Elliot, of Perquimans County
Thanks Ofir. Here is another one I need to chop up:
Mary Smith is an old, discredited name for the wife of Col. Lawrence Smith. See the About section on Lawrence Smith's profile. I'm fine with leaving that profile as a marriage sans children, but she somehow also became Lawrence's half-sister, with Elizabeth Smith listed as her mother. Elizabeth should be severed from Mary and John Hitchon.
Also there is a Reverend Guy Smith listed as a child of Maj. Lawrence. He needs to go. :)
Alicia, the aim of Geni is to create a world tree. It is a collaborative effort; trees joining trees. If you have suddenly joined the 'Big Tree' then it can seem overwhelming and it is a work in progress but it is improving every day so I would suggest that you give Geni a chance but meanwhile if you want to have an isolated family tree there are many sites and home - based programmes for you do so, just do that in addition to Geni.
I commented on the request about unmerging a tree that was merged in error, but the answer that was already given (choosing the correct set of parents and removing the incorrect set) doesn't make sense for my tree.
In my situation the parents were correct, but the profiles earlier than them, as well as the sibling profiles, are incorrect (not my family line) and getting very messy. I can't remove them and I don't manage them.
I even created a copy set of parents and tried to re-direct to them, but it still won't let me remove the profile that is connected to the mess, because it would split the tree. The profile I need to remove is this one -- E A Huneycutt
He is correct, but everything connected to him in earlier years is incorrect (his father, uncles, grandfather, etc.) I made a copy of him, and redirected his children to that copy, so that this profile could be removed.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
A complete stranger has just edited several of my profiles, and now thousands of additions that I did not approve of have suddenly appeared. Pictures I put in have been changed, deleted, or replaced, along with biographical information.
This is ridiculous. I try to remove this crap, and I get the message that I must remove this person's parents first. How can I ever do this when there are over 5,000 additions to each name?
Any help please?
Geni, you guys really need to do something about this. Every new user's default account should be set up so that NO ONE can make changes or edits without permission.
Months of work have been ruined.
This is ridiculous. Does anyone out there have any good recommendations for an alternative to Geni? I want to take my information to another website that actually allows its users some degree of privacy.
I'm literally in disbelief. I will never understand how a genealogical website could allow ANYONE to come in and make complete changes without any permission whatsoever.
Terry,
I totally agree with you and the benefits that Geni.com has in creating the world tree. And I plan to merge where I feel the data is accurate, the problem is that I've unknowingly accepted some merges of ancestors that I'm not completely confident are actual members yet, and until I am comfortable and can accept that the merge is accurate, I'd rather start fresh from my originally-input tree first. Is there a way to do this?
Alicia
