I am starting to work as curator on the Rucker family, but I cannot find any valid references to support the ancestry of immigrant (to America) Peter Rucker, who is the ancestor of most if not all of the Ruckers in America (or provided the name through slave ownership).

If anyone has any well-researched sources on his parents being Ambrose Levi Rucker and Elizabeth Beauchamp, please share them here.

Thanks!

Pam Wilson, Curator and Rucker descendant
(my gg-gmother was Lizzie Ann Rucker of Rutherford County, NC)

Have you been in touch with The Rucker Family Society? (theruckerfamilysociety.org) This is a well organized group with much information and interest in their common ancestor, Peter Rucker. I have been in touch with both Alice Rucker and Jeannie Brydon (see email addresses below) and have always found them to be helpful. Good luck, Rozanne Churchill (my Rucker line is: Peter > William > Mordical > William Martin > Wiliam Henry > Nannie Amanda) I'll try to follow your project on line.

Hi cousin Roz! I've definitely checked out their website but since I just started this new project today (as curator) I haven't written them. (PS Hope you're doing well!)

Good to be in touch again! I'm going to forward you a very interesting e-mail I got some time ago which goes into some misinformation on Peter's ancestry. You may find it illuminating as you climb Peter's tree.

All is will here. After quite a few years of research, I decided that I needed to wrap up my genealogy project and print copies for all children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews. I went back as far as I could on our six families and organized it by family, filling in as much personal information and pictures as I had, copies of old letters, biographies, even old family recipes. Last Christmas, each one got a copy. Since it is rather lengthy, I know no one has had time nor inclination to read it cover to cover - - but everything I know about our family's history and story is recorded for posterity. And that's what it's all about!

Hello dear Pam Wilson
I'm very touched by the efforts you do to reconstruct the family genealogy so far away. But I'm afraid I'm not able to help you because my ancestors came to Morocco from Andalusia, Spain and may be they arrived to Spain from Babylon or Israel since 70 A.C. when the 2nd Temple was destructed and the Romans expelled the Jews who they didn't kill. Nevertheless I arrived to Israel in 1972 to the kibbuts Mashabei Sadeh in the Negev. There I made acquaintance with a nice and young girl called Amanda Glazer (or Glaser ) from London, She was ready to marry me If I leave the kibbuts but I didn't agree to do so. Now I don't know nothing about her. She should be 60 years old more or less. I'll be happy to know more about her if you happen to know.
I wish you to succeed in your task.

Binyamin, I'm sorry that I don't know anything about Amanda, and I don't think she has any relation to the Rucker family, which is the subject of this discussion thread. You might want to start a separate discussion topic about it--thanks!
