Tracking Jan Smuts' Genealogy

Hi there, family of South African Progenitors

Does anyone want to help with tracking the genealogy and especially the descendents of Jan Smuts? The ancestors are mostly Dutch/ French, as far as I can see (And his great grandfather was a VOC employee who I've added as one of the original progenitors arriving at the Cape.)

This is the profile I've created (and appended in About Me the stuff I can find on the net, with sites) - but it is infernally difficult to track his 6 children and then grandchildren - apparantly because the name died out on the paternal side.
But his genes didn't!

It seems to me to be a profile we SA Geni trackers should have accurately documented for ourselves, but don't.

I could do with some help, though. Anyone game? (I know there's a genealogy doc at his house/museum in Irene) but someone needs to go there and get it, because it's not on the net! (There's a great Irene monthly market at the site, if you want to combine the two - search google for the dates.)
