Ingeborg Eiriksdotter of Norway and John II, Orkney, Earl of Caithness & Orkney
Ingeborg Eriksdotter
I can not see that link with the supposed husband, John II, Orkney, Earl of Caithness & Orkney is correct? I find this written about Eirik's daughter Ingeborg:
It is believed that Isabella Bruce was behind her daughter Ingeborg Eiriksdatter engagement with Jon Magnusson, Earl of Orkney in 1300 that it was never anything because of the bridegroom's untimely death. Instead, Ingeborg Eiriksdatter married to the Swedish Prince and Duke Valdemar Magnusson in a double wedding between a brother and the Norwegian cousin, Princess Ingeborg Hakonsdatter, in Oslo in 1312 Ingeborg was a son of Valdemar in 1316, but nothing more is known about him. Ingeborg was also an early widow when the Duke died in captivity in 1318, but Ingeborg continued to live in Sweden. Since 1340, she was styled Duchess of Öland. A document from 1357 showed that the mother Isabella must have inherited his daughter in Sweden, suggesting Isabella lived longer than his daughter.
Should we delete the link or is there anyone who knows anything more about Ingeborg that do not appear in this story about her?
Her correct Norwegian name I belive was Ingebjørg Eiriksdottir.
