The muster list (3 Reynolds I think but have not looked that carefully) comes from:

In the book The Patriots of Kings Mountain, by Bobby Gilmer Moss, Copyright 1990, on page 154 the name of Captain William Lenoir is listed as being at the battle. Captain Lenoir resided in Wilkes County, North Carolina, the same place that Joseph Porter was living. Captain [William] Lenoir provided a handwritten list of the names of the men who where under his command at The Battle of Kings Mountain.

With archival stamp, did you notice? I mean, how hardcore for evidence is that!

Now unfortunately my Joseph Porter's daughter (the line I follow to myself) is proving some impossible birth dates and a likely long term mix up between husband and father in law. [sigh] But she got a divorce so she did exist and the Reynolds are solid!

I'll put up more documents about the Battle itself in that Project. I have to go find General Sevier's profile as he's now my new favorite general, supplanting The Swamp Fox.

I had never seen a handwritten muster list like this before. If I get ambitious I'll try and find where the original is housed and if there are any more documents relating to the battle. I think there are.

Should also pull a list of Reynolds from the databases of the DAR and the SAR.

Erica Howton, I own a copy of one of the definitive books, KIngs Mountain and Its Heroes by Lyman C Draper (1881). It has a terrible index. If you can find it on ebooks so it's searchable, that would be a terrific resource. I have several Kings Mountain ancestors (since most of my maternal ancestors just lived a couple of counties away, so that was a local battle).
