Happy Easter Recovery Day!
Just as an overview, this is how I as a curator worked very well with a collaborator back when we first started Projects, 6 geni months ago. The family line is not as complicated (or prolific!) as the Lees, but on the other hand, we now have a clean and documentable family "backbone" from ca. 1250 to present day -- geographically from Normandy through England on out to all parts of USA, Canada and an Australia "hook in" in those lines ... so I consider it a success and a good "template" for this project.
Business rules:
1. All profiles in the project must be set to PUBLIC.
2. Use the Project Discussions tool so curators can assist and cover each other.
3. If you run across any historic profiles set to PRIVATE they are "zombies." If we need a dedicated discussion for that in let's start one.
4. When you collaborate on a project you have "mini curator" rights to edit any profile in the Project. So having individual management rights *to* a profile is no longer relevant.
5. Projects have their own "merge" center. We *all* will need to take responsibility for merging together new copies. But we'll get that procedure together further down the road.
6. Start a dedicated discussion for each "key" profile with a good heading - include dates! Post all written documentation for that profile in that dedicated thread. When the profile is cleaned up and if it's not already set as a Master Profile, post "make me a master!" A curator will catch it and post back "done."
7. Any Lee profile you have mgmt of - add to project as you see them.
8. Any Lee profile you *don't* have mgmt rights to and *need* to - post the URL of the profile, request "curator add to project." When the curator does, they will post back "done."
9. If you have good collaborators working a particular line with you, feel free to invite them to join the project, taking responsibility to mentor them along as well. We rely on *your* knowledge of *your* collaborators! We already know you guys - Jacqueli, James & Lizzie - and each other as curators - Jenna, Hatte, Tammy, Maria. Daniel Dupree Walton curates a few profiles in the Lee family and I will invite him to join the project as well.
10. Just so you know - my own connection to the Lee family is by marriage with a Battaile! so I am excited to get this line sorted, it helps my own family line.
