I do not seem to be able to send mail to the profile managers. Does anybody know what the sources are for his date of death and origin? His marriage certificate issued in Tulbach certainly indicate differently.

Hi Dewald, The SAG book no 5 page 372 indicate that Joachim Heinrich Martens came from Brandenburg, arrived in 1747 at the Cape of Good Hope on the boat De Kasteel from Tilburg. He later became a burgher and lived at Stellenbosch. He married Jacomina VAN DEN BERG on 5 August 1759. The date of her death became part of her profile after a merge and I have no idea who got that information.
