About Aaron Cleveland

Aaron Cleveland served in King Philip's war, as did his brothers Moses and Samuel.

By trade a housewright, farmer and land speculator, he gave to his children the best educational advantages of that day.

He was made a freeman in 1680, and became a man of wealth and distinction, prominent in all public affairs.

AARON CLEVELAND, second son and third child of Moses and Ann (Winn) Cleveland, b. in Woburn, Mass., Jan. 10, 1655, m. first, in Woburn, Sept. 26, 1675, Dorcas Wilson, probably dau. of John Wilson, who first appears upon the tax lists in Woburn, in the rate for the country, assessed Aug. 26, 1666. His two children, John Wilson, Jr., and Dorcas, must have been born before he came to Woburn, and he d. July 2, 1687. Aaron and Dorcas (Wilson) Cleveland had a family of ten children, as follows:

1. Dorcas, b. Oct. 29, 1676; m. John Knight.

2. Hannah, b. Dec. 18, 1678; d. June 13, 1679.

3. Aaron, b. July 9, 1680; m. Abigail Waters.

4. Hannah, (again), b. June 2, 1687; m. - Beard.

5. Moses,3 b. Feb. 24, 1690; m. Mary Johnson.

6. Sarah,3 b. March 5, 1692; m. Job Richardson.

7. Miriam,3 b. July 1, 1694.

8. Isabel,3' b. April 6, 1697; d. Dec. 7, 1714.

9. Ann, b. 1699.

10. Benjamin, b. May 16, 1701; m. Anna Church.

After the death of wife Dorcas, in Cambridge, Mass., Nov. 29, 1714, he m, a second wife, Prudence but had no more children, and d. Sept. 14, 1716, aged, according to gravestone, 62 years.
