Benjamin Babbitt (Elkanah-Edward). Born (About 1706). Appointed assessor at first town meeting in Berkley, May 12, 1735. Died between Dec. 1752, and March, 1753, Will dated Dec, 11, 1752, Married (1st) about 1726, Abigail (Maiden name unknown). Died Oct. 15, 1737. (2nd) Abiah Crane, Jan. 5, 1738, daughter of Gershom and Susannah (Whitmarsh) Crane. Bom Dec. 12, 1716.

Abiah Crane Babbitt married (2nd) May 25, 1754, Nathaniel Holloway, of Middleboro, Mass., and went to that town to live. Sept. 23, 1760, at Berkley were published the intentions of marriage of Abiel Atwood and widow Abiah Holloway. May 25, 1790, at Raynham, were published Edmond Williams and Abiah Atwood. She survived him and died about 1812.

Abiah Crane was born 12 Dec 1716 in Berkley, Bristol, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Gershom Crane and Susannah Whitmarsh. Abiah married four times, each after the death of a husband.

Her first marriage was 5 Jan 1738 in Berkley, Bristol, Massachusetts Bay to Benjamin Babbitt when she was 21 years old. Benjamin was 33. Their children include:

Abiah married 2nd, Nathaniel Holloway on 25 May 1754 in Middleborough, Plymouth, Massachusetts. Their children include: Lois Holloway Jedidah Holloway

Nathaniel died between 1756 and 1759.

Abiah married 3rd, Abiel (Abel) Atwood on 23 Sep 1760 in Berkley, Massachusetts when she was 43 years old.

Abiah married 4th, Edmond Williams in Raynham on May 25, 1790 when she was 73 years old and he was 80. Edmond died six years later on 3 Dec 1796. He was 86 years old.

Abiah passed away in 1812 in Middleborough, Plymouth, Massachusetts, at the impressive age of 96.
