Biography

Genealogy of the Fairbanks family in America:

Abigail, born about 1705, married Feb. 24, 1725, in the North Parish Church of Montville, CT, Mr. Johathan Church of Colchester, CT. They settled near the Indian reservation at the present village of Uncassville on part of the land deed by Owaneco. He must have been a superior man, and she a woman of great moral worth, for several of their decedents are noted in the fields of Jurisprudence. Ex-Justice of the Supreme Court of New York, Hon. Sanford Church, is a decedent. No clear record can be found of their children. They had several sons, Jonathan, Fairbanks, John, Amos, Peleg. Decedents from Johnathan are still living in Montville.
