Immigration

She sailed with her parents and 7 siblings on 4 June 1635 from Bristol, Gloucestershire, England on the Angel Gabriel. It encountered a terrible storm that wrecked the ship off the coast of Pemaquid in Maine. Some passengers were killed. John left his family there in a tent he had brought and went to Boston, Massachusetts. He arranged to have his wife, 3 sons and 5 daughters transported around the last of August to Ipswich, Massachusetts where they settled in a part of the area known as Chebacco Parish.

Birth

Abigail Cogswell was born before her baptism in 1627 in Westbury Leigh, Wiltshire, England to John Cogswell and Elizabeth Thompson. Anderson gives her a birthdate of 1641 which would mean that she was born in Massachusetts and nothing else gives that information.
