Abigail Avery daughter John & Abigail Avery born ye 18 January 1679.
Born Jan. 18, 1679, at Groton, New London Co., Conn. and baptized March 30, 1679, First Church of New London. Abigail married James Packer, son of Thomas and Rebecca (Wells) Packer. Rebecca Wells was the widow of Thomas Latham.
James Packer was baptized Sept. 11, 1681, First Church of New London.
Mrs. Abigail (Avery) Packer died Nov. 10, 1722, at Groton, and James Packer Married 2d Elizabeth Springer, and 3d, Thankful Fanning.
He was deputy, 1717, 1732, 1733, 1734, 1735; was commissioned captain, 1735 (Conn. Col. Rec., 6:2 & 7:363, 403, 424, 464 & 5:17 & 8:4). He died April 24, 1765, from a fire that burned his barn. His will was probated May 10, 1765, at New London, Conn. He mentioned his wife, Thankful, sons, Ichabod, John and Joseph, family of son, James, deceased; daughter, Abigail Eldridge, daughter, Desire, wife of Capt. John Burrows; daughter Freelove, wife of Lemuel Burrows; children of deceased daughter, Lucretia Fish; daughter Anna, wife of William Havens of Long Island; and the children of his later marriage. He left each son a good farm.
The children of James and Abigail (Avery) Packer, were all born at Groton, New London Co., Conn.
