Mrs. Tillison was born to the late Artis Lee and Mary Lou Freeman Gossett and spent her life in Rusk County. She worked for Safeway gracery store and was a member of Roquemore Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Artis Wallace, and her brother, Virgil Lee Gossett.
