About Abraham HaLevi HaLevi Neumark Mirels Fraenkel
Wachstein says he could not find a record of Abraham, who appeared in Löwenstein. See p. 354 https://media.geni.com/p13/d6/60/3d/0e/5344485022467da6/screen_shot_2019-11-16_at_1_original.jpg?hash=feb26735de4d63155b3edb03f7ba28352b1cdb7d931f3c4094de42e028506faa.1764489599
Monatsschrift für Geschichte und Wissenschaft des Judenthums, Volume 38 Available on Googlebooks. A lot of information about “Der Sturm der Tarnogroder Confederirten auf Posen” including a letter from Dov Berel Neumark, son of Meshulam Zalman Neumark Mireles of Hamburg. The letter describes the battles as Poznan fell into the hands of the rebels 25th July 1716, and is part of a full historical treatment by prof. david Kaufman. The letter is by Berel Neumark Mireles, leader of the Jewish community in Posen/Poznan to his brother Wolf a community leader in Berlin. It is endorsed by a letter from the community, and it also includes the information that both he (Berel) and his brother Avrohom were struck by the insurgents but survived. A list of 40 Jews who died is also attached. Kaufman also builds a theory about the connections between prominent Jewish families of Hamburg, Poznan and Berlin… though to be honest the Mirels family were Vienna exiles. I wonder if my ancestor Avraham Avril Mirles was the brother mentioned. best wishes A.M.
