About Abraham Isaac Dehn

Abraham Isaac was a merchant and lost his fortune in the great fire of Copehagen in 1795. Because of this , as well as other reasons, he left Denmark and migrated to Burgsteinfurt, where he married again and had 4 children, including Bernard. He undertook there his Rabbinical studies and became a Rabbi in 1818 following which he was offered a position as Rabbi of Groningen, Netherlands. He married a third time, and had 4 more children, all of them born in Groningen, taking the name van Deen
