About Adam Akers
Adam Akers was the twelfth and last child of Blackburn Akers, Sr., and wife Elizabeth Blackburn. He was born c.1779 in Virginia, most likely in Botetourt County, as his parents had been established there since 1771. He died c.1838 in Montgomery County, Virginia.
Adam married Nancy Altizer. She was the daughter of Emera Altizer, Sr. and first wife Mary Pitzer. She was born in 1790 in Montgomery County, Virginia and died there in 1860. Father of nine children.
