Adam Proctor

Adam was a Cherokee man

Biography

Adam was born about 1831. He was the son of William Proctor and Dicey Downing.

He passed away in 1872. He is buried at Johnson Cemetery now in Delaware County, Oklahoma.

Research Notes

Grave markers have both Adam and Ezekiel born in 1831, though on different months and days, so not twins. Drennen Roll enumeration order suggests Adam was between Ezekiel and Arch in age. More information in known about Ezekiel who lived longer and had more notoriety. Though Adam's grave marker is old, it may still have be placed at a later time when dates had been lost. More research needed to see if it is possible to determine correct birth years for the brothers.
