Adam was born to Adam Drorbach and Catherine Scheebler and was christened on September 11, 1763. He was seven years old when his father died and he lived under the guardianship of his uncle's William and Nicholas. In 1779, Adam was age seventeen and of legal age when William and Nicholas moved to Virginia. In 1787, Adam visited his uncle's in Virginia then moved to Lincoln County, North Carolina, where his surname became Trobaugh. He wed Mary, surname unknown, there in 1788 and they had five known children as follows: 1) Daniel in 1789 2) Martha in 1791 3) Henry on 24 May 1793 4) John in 1794 5) Mary in 1805
In about 1808, Adam moved his family to the Tennessee River at the present town of Florence, Alabama. Son's Henry and Jacob served under General Andrew Jackson in the Cherokee Indian War and son John served in the Battle Of New Orleans; as noted in his second wife Rebecca's widow pension, application WC-30067. In 1817, Adam's brother Jacob Trobaugh moved to Robertson County, Tennessee next to Adairville, Kentucky and his surname became Traughber. In 1831, Adam and son Henry moved to Tipton County, Tennessee. It is not known where Adam is buried but he left a Will (#1837-A73).
