Obituary from The Worcester Telegram & Gazette (MA) - Saturday, September 10, 2016: Adele M. Degutis, 93 Worcester - Adele M. Degutis, 93, of Worcester died Thursday September 8, 2016 in CareOne at Millbury. Her husband of 49 years, Francis A. Degutis died on Feb. 14, 2007. Adele is survived by two nieces, JoAnne Jacobson and Donna Dinardo, two nephews, Paul Ivaska and Peter Ivaska and is also survived by grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces and great grand nephews. She was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of Michael and Mary (Sakalauskas) Ivaska and has lived here all of her life. Adele was predeceased by her three brothers, Joseph Ivaska died in 2007, Francis Ivaska died in 2003 and Withold Ivaska died in 1999. Mrs. Deguts graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade High School. She then worked for Graton & Knight Co., Bell Co., and Melville Shoe Co., before retiring many years ago. She was a member of the former St. Casimir Church and was a choir member there. Adele had also served on the Parish Council. Mrs. Degutis was also a 4th degree member of Council 26, Knights of Lithuania, the Lithuanian Charitable Society – Maironis Park, the Lithuania Art Circle and the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Auxiliary. The funeral will be held on Tuesday September 13, 2016 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 11:00 AM in St. John Church 40 Temple St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday Sept. 13, 2016 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Member s of Council 26, Knights of Lithuania will meet at 10:00 AM during the calling hour to conduct their ritual. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center, 72 Cambridge St., Worcester, Ma., 01603 or to a charity of one's choice. www.worcesterfuneral.com
