Agnes Maxwell

John Maxwell married (in 1491 or 1492) Agnes, the daughter of Sir Alexander Stewart of Garlies ,[3][4] She was still living on 25 July 1530. They had at least eight children, including:

Agnes Maxwell, who married Robert Charteris of Amisfield

Agnes Maxwell was the daughter of John Maxwell, Fourth Lord Maxwell (of Dumfries, Scotland), and Agnes Stewart, eldest daughter of Sir Alexander Steward of Garlies.[1] Her birth date is not certain. It would be after 1490 when her parents married, and before 1513 when her father died.

She married Robert Charteris of Amisfield, Scotland. They had one son John.[1]
