At least one pedigree published by FamilySearch claims that Agnes Sempill, here treated is the daughter of Hugh Sempill, 5th Lord Sempill and his wife Anne Hamilton Agnes Sempill's father is not identified as the 5th Lord Sempill by FamilySearch but, never-the-less, it is abundantly clear from the extended genealogy proposed that this is who is intended. Family Search The same claim has been made by at least one pedigree published by MyHeritage. Both are wrong. According to the Scots Peerage, the fifth Lord Sempill and his first wife did not have a daughter named Agnes. The Scots Peerage VII: pp. 554-7
