"...Albert Carrington (January 8, 1813 – September 19, 1889) born in Royalton, Vermont, was an apostle and member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and First Presidency in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). He was ordained as an apostle on July 3, 1870.
Carrington served in the Utah Territorial Legislature in 1869. He was excommunicated from the LDS Church on November 7, 1885 for adultery and fornication, but was later rebaptized. Upon his rebaptism, he was not reinstated as an apostle or as a general authority. Carrington was the tenth official Church Historian of the LDS Church between 1871 and 1874..."
