About Albert Gallatin Boone
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=34611887
From "Memory Sketches" by Peter Cooper, a series that ran in the Missouri Telegraph of Fulton, Missouri. This article 1 Mar 1878. (I summarize)
For a time, Albert G. Boone lived in southern Callaway County, Missouri. His sister Emily Boone (Mrs. James S. Henderson #8933334) lived in Fulton. His sister Panthea Grant Boone (#10674894) lived in Boone County, just to the west where she married Lilbourn Boggs (#64141580). About 1830, Albert opened a mercantile store on the Missouri River in Portland & attempted to supply the pressing needs of the early settlers.
He had a number of occupations, including fur trader, saloon and general store owner, Indian Agent, and census enumerator (1880 census), and was once called "the bravest man in the West."
