Alexander married Margaret McLENNAN in December 1827 in Scotland and they had the following children

Alexander was convicted of forgery and sentenced to 7 years transportation. He arrived in Sydney Cove on 31/12/1830 on "Burrell". His wife and son followed him, arriving in 1837 on "William Nichol"
