Research Notes

Alexander Love is not James Love's Father and other dubious attributions needing attention.
Alexander who died in 1727 may have married an Elishe, but we know he didn't marry Elesha (aka Elishe, Elisha) Basye because she was unmarried in 1714 when her father named her without a married name in his will. She wrote her will in 1756 using her maiden name and without noting any heirs.
There's no record that proves Alexander's wife was named Elishe, but the possibility is loosely supported by the fact that their son Amos named one of his daughters Elishe.
Knowing that the will for Alexander Love who died in Northumberland VA in 1727 serves as the best source for identifying his children, we learn that he had only two sons and had five daughters, Elizabeth and four "youngest daughters" when the will was written. Whether there were unnamed sons or daughters not mentioned in the will can be debated, but what evidence has given us supports only two sons - Amos and William, and gives us only one daughter's name - Elizabeth. Without additional records putting Alexander with sons or daughters not named Amos, William, or Elizabeth, all other children in his profile are unproven and should be removed.
Regarding Alexander's life record, there's no evidence he was ever in North Carolina. Children born in North Carolina should be detached.
The conclusion: Hannah Honor Love is not his daughter. It's likely she would have been named explicitly in his will. If one assumes she was left out of the will for some reason, there needs to be compelling evidence in some other form to justify including her.
James Love Sr. born in VA in 1720 and died in NC in 1800 is not his son. Alexander was explicit in his language when he wrote "my two sons." They were named Amos and William. There is no James.
John Love is not his son for the same reason as James as well as the fact that John's recorded birth location is North Carolina and there's no evidence of Alexander's ever having been present in the state.
Descendants of Alexander (through son Amos then Amos Jr), James Love and John Love frequently attached to Alexander have yDNA tested. The Love surname project at FamilyTreeDNA (https://www.familytreedna.com/public/LoveDNA?iframe=ycolorized) includes Alexander Love's descendant associated with kit 50275, James Love's descendants included in Group 1 Loves, and descendants of John Love's sons William included in Group 6 Loves. Groups 1, 6, and the ungrouped members cannot share a common patrilineal ancestor in over 5,000 years.
As to William, it's unclear whether William born in 1725 is Alexander's son. William is only mentioned in the eventuality that Amos dies without lawful issue and assigns William the property that would otherwise go to Amos. The circumstances in which William receives real or personal property from the estate does suggest William was a minor when the will was written, but that's not certain.
Absent other sources, none of the other daughters often included as Alexander's children can be ascribed to him. This includes Judith and sometimes Jane on various world tree platforms.
The "Ancestry" tree link used as a source should be deleted. it contains no sources so isn't a satisfactory citation.
With respect to "Saponey" (Saponi) status of daughters Honor and Judith, there's no record indicating that Alexander's wife was Native American. Given his own pedigree, he certainly wasn't.
There are two Find-a-Grave memorials commonly attached to Alexander's profile on different sites. Neither includes headstone images or other source data, making each unsuitable for Alexander Love source citations.
One gives a birth date of 1690 in Northumberland County VA, and a death date of 1773 in Onslow, North Carolina. [2]. The only reason this can be conflated with this Alexander's profile is the given birth location. The birth date is not consistent, and the death date is completely at odds with the record. It names no other family members, so has very little to recommend it as a reference, particularly since there are no included sources with the memorial.
The other Find-a-Grave memorial includes life facts that are consistent with this profile. The birth and death dates and locations are consistent with Alexander's record.[3]
In 1704, Elishe married Alexander Love, born 1680, in Northumberland County, a son of James Love and Isabell Alexander. [4]
