About Alexander Nicoll
From the St. Johns Herald and Apache News of Thursday, Oct. 10, 1907
Death of Alexander Nicoll Sen.
Last Saturday morning, Alexander Nicoll died at his home. Mr. Nicoll has been a resident of St. Johns for the past 30 years, he was a good man and until stricken with blindness some few years ago, was a man of energy and usefulness in this community. He was 77 years of age on the 30th of last June.
He leaves a wife, 9 children, and 77 grandchildren to mourn his death. The funeral took place from the LDS church and the following were the speakers: Bp. O. E. Overson, W. H. Gibbons, W. D. Rencher, and A. V. Gibbons. The burden of the remarks were of the good life led by Mr. Nicoll. The remains were followed to their last resting place, in the West side cemetery, by a long concourse of carriages and other vehicles. The Herald joins his many friends in extending sympathy to the sorrow stricken family.
